On Thursday, September 17, 2026, in the cultural space of DKC Veritas in Košice, one of the strongest and most emotional events of the KHETANE festival will take place — a solo performance based on the work of Nobel laureate Svetlana Alexievich.
This is a story about the incredible power of love, which can withstand the harshest trials of fate. The audience awaits a deep, frank, and stunning experience that leaves an indelible mark on the soul.
Plot and atmosphere: light through the prism of pain
The drama takes the viewer back to 1990. The main heroine, Margarita, repeatedly relives moments of absolute happiness. She and Abulfaz are two young lovers who get married and are expecting a child. For them, the future only makes sense when they are together.
However, difficult obstacles typical of that complex period and place stand in the way of their feelings. This is a realistic and at the same time deeply lyrical story about how, despite all the trials of time, the only thing that can rewrite fate is faith, hope, and love.
