This year's 368th Radvanský jarmok (traditional fair) in Banská Bystrica will be dedicated to glass and handmade glassmaking. This theme will be reflected in the overall atmosphere and accompanying events at SNP Square and near the Barbakan.
Visitors can expect hundreds of food stalls, craft and other products, as well as entertainment attractions. The program includes an overview of traditional crafts, live demonstrations of glass blowing and shaping, and talks within the cycle “Fragile Power,” where Lukáš Latínak will talk with personalities from the world of glassmaking.
Besides glassmaking traditions, the event will come alive with a diverse cultural program combining theater, music, and dance in a three-day celebration of Banská Bystrica. Musical performances include Korben Dallas, Vesna, and Čechomor, as well as local bands and folklore groups.
They also remembered the youngest and theater art lovers: fairy tale performances by Harry Teater and the theater Dvor zázrakov will take place in the Barbakan area. Traditional craft stalls will be complemented by shows of birds of prey from the falcon group BIATEC and accompanying events at the Central Slovak Educational Center and the ÚĽUV Craft Courtyard.
