The 23rd Žilinský (Žilina) Literary Festival will take place from Thursday, September 17 to Saturday, September 19, 2026. During the three festival days, you can expect debates with interesting Slovak and foreign authors, thematic discussions, concerts, workshops, a children's program, a book fair of publishers and bookstores, as well as a Sunday walk with interesting guests.
This year's theme is “Now is the Time!” — an open call that will develop at the festival in various forms. Ideas, creativity, and knowledge have their right moment when they declare themselves: when we should listen, when to dive into the game, when to focus on what matters. We want to create space for current sharp topics, for urgent issues of today, to turn to books that will not wait, and also to enjoy the wonderful festival atmosphere together.
