How to issue a power of attorney in the Czech Republic

A power of attorney in the Czech Republic (plná moc) allows one person to authorize another to act on their behalf in legally important matters. For example, this could be extending a lease agreement, submitting documents to the OAMP (Department for Asylum and Migration Policy), or selling real estate. Types of powers of attorney include special, general, and single-use. Each type has its own features and requirements, especially regarding notarization. For many everyday actions, a written power of attorney without notarization is enough. However, for some cases, like re-registering a car, an official notarized signature is needed.
