Thanks to the prompt response of the operations center and the quick actions of patrol officers in Košice, two teenagers were caught red-handed as they were damaging and attempting to steal shared electric scooters. Since the perpetrators were minors, the case is now being handled by social services.
The Košice Municipal Police (MsP) reported on the successful operation.

Caught in the Act and Evidence Seized
After receiving a call about damage to electric scooters, a patrol immediately responded to the scene. Upon arriving at the specified address, the officers noticed a suspicious pair with scooters.
Upon seeing the patrol officers, the teenagers fled. However, they were unable to escape: the officers quickly split up and apprehended both fugitives within a short time.
While searching the surrounding area, the patrol officers found key evidence in the grass—a pair of combination pliers that had been discarded, which the teenagers had used to try to break into the scooters’ mechanisms.
Results and Consequences
A visual inspection confirmed that the perpetrators had already damaged one of the electric scooters. However, thanks to the police’s timely arrival, the second scooter was saved unharmed.
The city police emphasized that the arrest proceeded peacefully, without the use of physical force or special equipment.
Since the detainees are minors, information about the incident has already been forwarded to:
to the authorities responsible for the social and legal protection of children and social supervision (social services);
the teenagers’ legal guardians (parents);
the company that owns the shared scooters—to cover the damages caused.
This incident has once again demonstrated the importance of a rapid response and the constant presence of the municipal police on the city’s streets.
