In short

The Migration Police of Slovakia updated the electronic booking system, dividing services into authorized for holders of residence permits or permanent residence (VNZH or PMP) and unauthorized for those without residence permits, including temporary protection. Authorized services are available 60 days ahead and require a BOK code for login, unauthorized — 40 days ahead without authorization. The system limits one booking per 15 days per person to prevent appointment reselling, and the police investigate fraud.

Frequently asked questions

How to cancel or reschedule a booked appointment?+
The confirmation letter contains a link “Prejsť na zrušenie rezervácie termínu” — cancellation is done through it or via the “Moje rezervácie – cudzinecká polícia” tab on the portal. There is no “reschedule” function: you cancel and book again. The Ministry of Interior call center (0800 222 222) does not cancel reservations — only you can.
What documents to bring to the visit?+
PIN code and booking data, a filled application form for your situation (samples on minv.sk in the Pobyt cudzinca section), originals and copies of documents for the case. Without a filled application, processing is delayed; in the worst case, you will be asked to come again.
Is a separate appointment needed for a child?+
Yes: the “family ticket” was canceled, the rule “one person — one appointment” applies to children too, each child must have a separate slot booked. For children under 18, exceptions outside the system remain in justified cases.
Can I book in another city if there are no appointments in mine?+
For first-time applications for temporary residence, purpose change, PMP for 5 years, national visa, and EU citizen registration — yes, at any department in the country. For residence extensions, long-term residence, or card issuance — no, only at the department of residence.
The system shows an error or freezes. What to do?+
Most often — wait: short-term crashes during high load are acknowledged by the Ministry of Interior, the advice is to try again later. A stable error can be reported via the portal contact form, but there will be no out-of-turn acceptance “due to a glitch.”
