The Bratislava police have arrested a 45-year-old man suspected of distributing hard drugs. According to the investigation, he supplied and sold methamphetamine and heroin to drug addicts. The suspect is currently in custody.

The search and arrest were carried out by police officers from Bratislava’s Fifth Precinct on October 23. During a personal search and a search of the suspect’s residence, law enforcement officers discovered numerous foil wrappers and packets containing unknown substances.

Forensic analysis confirmed that the seized packages contained methamphetamine, as well as heroin mixed with caffeine and acetaminophen. According to a spokeswoman for the Bratislava police, the man was charged with the illegal production and distribution of narcotic and psychotropic substances. The day after his arrest, a judge at the Bratislava Municipal Court granted the investigator’s motion to remand the suspect in custody.

It is worth noting that Slovak law provides for severe penalties for drug-related crimes. Although drug use itself is not a criminal offense, the production, possession with intent to distribute, and sale of narcotic substances are punishable by long-term imprisonment. Even possession of more than 10 doses can be classified as drug dealing rather than personal use.
