Legally, May 8 and September 15 became working days. However, the city of Košice decided to give paid time off to avoid huge costs of €1.2 million for holiday overtime pay. Emergency services, the zoo, the city police, and 15 kindergartens will work as usual. The saved money will be used for repairing sidewalks and roads.
