O2 subscribers will pay between 24 and 36 euros more per year for popular mobile plans. One of Slovakia’s largest operators is changing its prices for mobile service, television, and fiber-optic internet. Existing customers will begin receiving new bills starting December 1, 2026.
The changes will affect both new and existing subscribers, but prices for the latter will increase at a later date. For new customers, the higher prices for mobile plans and TV have been in effect since October 26.
Mobile plans: an increase of 2–3 euros per month
The biggest price increases are for mobile services. Prices have gone up for all of the operator’s main plans.
The Základný O2 Paušál (Basic) plan will increase from 22 € to 24 € per month.
The Pohodový O2 Paušál (Comfort) plan will increase in price from 33 € to 35 € per month.
The Bezstarostný O2 Paušál (Carefree) plan will see the largest price increase—from 44 € to 47 € per month.
The O2 Fér na faktúru plan will also increase from €3 to €4 per month.
Over the course of a year, users of the Basic and Comfort plans will pay €24 more, while those on the Carefree plan will pay €36 more.
TV and Internet: More Than Just Price Increases
Prices have also changed for O2 TV services. Here, the percentage increase is even higher.
Základná O2 TV (Basic TV) will cost €9 instead of €7 per month (an increase of nearly 29%).
Pohodová O2 TV (Comfort TV) will go up from 14 € to 17 € per month.
There are also changes for fiber-optic internet users, but there’s some good news here as well. Starting November 26, the provider is updating its rate plans, retaining two main options:
Základný Internet optikou (Basic) will cost 19.50 € (previously 17.43 €), but the speed will increase to 600/200 Mbit/s.
Pohodový Internet optikou (Comfort) will cost €24.50 (previously €22.55) with speeds of up to 1,000/300 Mbit/s.
Subscribers to the most expensive plan, Bezstarostný Internet optikou (€27.68), will be automatically switched to the Pohodový plan for €24.50, which will save them over €3 per month without any loss in speed.
Why is O2 raising prices, and what are they offering in return?
The operator explains this decision as an investment in network development, specifically in expanding 5G coverage. According to the company, 5G is already available to 99.77% of Slovakia’s population.
To offset the higher prices, O2 is offering several perks:
More mobile data in the EU: For the Základný and Pohodový plans, the data allowance for roaming will increase by 2.9 GB, and for the Bezstarostný plan, by 4.3 GB.
New TV channels: Starting November 1, the sports channels Nova Sport 3 and Nova Sport 4 (Champions League, Bundesliga, La Liga) have been added to the Pohodová O2 TV package. Temporarily, until the end of January 2027, Nova Sport 5 and 6 will also be available, featuring Formula 1 and MotoGP broadcasts.
When can you expect the new bills?
Here are the key dates when the changes will take effect:
October 26, 2026: new prices for mobile plans and TV for new customers.
November 26, 2026: Updated pricing for fiber-optic internet plans.
December 1, 2026: New prices for mobile plans and TV for all existing customers.
If you use multiple services, such as mobile service and TV, be prepared for your monthly expenses to increase by 5 euros, which amounts to 60 euros per year. We recommend checking your plan’s terms and any available individual discounts in your account on the official O2 website.
