From August 30, 2026, a new direct international bus route started operating between Slovakia and the Czech Republic, connecting the regional centers Trenčín and Zlín. The integration of the two countries' transport systems made travel between neighbors fast, cheap, and eco-friendly.
The new line, 87 kilometers long, is the result of close cooperation between the Trenčín and Zlín regions, as well as the transport companies IDZK (Integrated Transport of Zlín Region) and IDS Plus. The route passes through the towns Zlín – Luhačovice – Uherský Brod – Trenčín.
Convenient Stops and Connections with Trains
In Trenčín, buses depart from platform No. 8 at the bus station. For passenger convenience, additional stops are provided:
Hasičská;
near Old Herold;
in Záblatí near the cemetery.
The route has convenient connections with rail transport. In Trenčín, the bus schedule is coordinated with trains heading to Bratislava, Košice, and Púchov.
Schedule
Buses run daily, including weekends and holidays. Departures from the Trenčín bus station occur four times a day:

18:45 (note: the last evening trip at 18:45 includes a transfer in Uherský Brod).
Fare and Payment Options
Pricing is based on the tariffs of the Integrated Transport of Zlín Region (IDZK):
Basic ticket (Trenčín – Zlín): 5.70 euros;
Discounted ticket: 2.80 euros.
How to pay for the trip? Passengers have several convenient payment methods:
Cash (both Czech crowns and euros are accepted);
Bank card with the driver;
Via the FAIRTIQ mobile app.
For season ticket holders, the following rule applies: on Czech territory, season tickets are used in the IDZK app, and on Slovak territory in the UBIAN app.
Cultural and Economic Integration
The launch of the route is significant for the development of both regions.
Trenčín is preparing to become the European Capital of Culture, while Zlín is a strong center of creative industries. The new route will ease travel for students (including those of Tomas Bata University in Zlín), artists, and youth.
The new “Trenčín – Zlín” route is already available to passengers, offering a modern, safe, and affordable way to travel between Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
