Many people believe that expanding the city’s parking system inevitably leads to new rates or more complex time restrictions. However, this is not the case with the new rules near popular locations in the capital. The PAAS regulated zone in Bratislava is expanding again, but the basic conditions for drivers remain the same.
Starting Monday, September 28, 2026, the Bratislavský parkovací asistent (PAAS) system will officially cover a new area. The changes will affect the immediate area around the Bratislava-Nové Mesto train station. This section has been incorporated into the expanded Kuchajda zone and has been officially designated as ÚDR 3051.
What Will Change for Drivers
The area around Lake Kuchajda will be divided into three separate sections—ÚDRs numbered 3050, 3051, and 3052. This change means that drivers who are accustomed to parking their cars here for free are now required to follow the city’s uniform parking regulations.
Key details of the new zone:
- the hourly rate remains at €1.00 per hour;
- on weekdays, the regulated hours are from 12:00 p.m. to midnight;
- on Sundays, paid parking is in effect from 6:00 p.m. to midnight;
- on Saturdays, there are no time restrictions in this area.
These changes do not increase the cost of hourly parking for residents and visitors. A report by Bratislavaden.sk notes that prices will not rise for either the new zones or the surrounding areas. The real effect will be a significant change in the availability of open spaces, as the haphazard parking at the pilot transportation hub near the train station will cease.
How to Check Your Zone and Prepare
If you live nearby or regularly use this location to transfer to trains or public transportation, check the current boundaries of the zone.
- Visit the official paas.sk portal, where the new boundaries of sector ÚDR 3051 are clearly marked on the interactive parking map.
- Make sure your car isn’t parked in the marked spaces of the future zone without a valid resident or visitor pass.
- Keep in mind other useful city services and regulations, particularly regarding the capital’s public transportation system, if you plan to combine car and train travel.
City officials emphasize that the main goal of these measures is to streamline traffic and protect the interests of registered residents from through traffic. Be sure to check the information signs located directly next to the parking meters before your trip.
