An unusual and dangerous incident on Štúrova Street in Bratislava kept Bratislava police officers busy. An unidentified man walked directly onto the city public transit tram tracks and, for no apparent reason, walked in front of a moving tram.

Although a red tram on Route 1, heading toward the Main Station, was right next to him, the pedestrian did not step off the tracks and continued walking. The driver was forced to stop the tram.

Illegal Actions and Police Investigation

The case is being handled by officers from the Regional Traffic Police Directorate in Bratislava, who have classified the man’s actions as unlawful.

  • Description of the individual: In the released footage, the man is wearing dark patterned clothing, shorts, and white athletic shoes.
  • Circumstances: During the incident, he was in the area designated for tram traffic without any objective justification.

It is not yet known what prompted the man to take this action or exactly how long the tram was stationary. However, the incident has once again drawn attention to traffic safety on the streets of Bratislava and pedestrians’ compliance with traffic rules.

How You Can Help

The police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the man in question.

If you recognize the man in the footage or have any information about his movements or whereabouts, you can contact the police:
