A municipal police patrol, driving across the Most SNP bridge toward Petržalka, noticed a suspicious car with its hazard lights on. Behind the bridge’s safety railing, a woman was standing, leaning over the edge.
The officers acted very cautiously so as not to provoke a tragedy. They turned their patrol car around and approached without sirens or flashing lights. When the woman noticed the officers, she abruptly turned back onto the roadway, tried to get into her car, and drive away. One of the patrol officers immediately stopped her from doing so and began a calm conversation, as the driver was in a distressed psychological state. Through this trusting conversation, they were able to learn the details of her difficult life circumstances.
Since the woman was in an acute crisis, the patrol officers prohibited her from getting behind the wheel and called an ambulance to the scene. Paramedics took her into their care and transported her to a specialized medical facility.
Law enforcement officials remind the public that in such critical situations, the attention of bystanders and a prompt response from emergency services are crucial. If you witness a dangerous situation or someone needs immediate assistance, please call the municipal police’s toll-free hotline at 159 or the general emergency number 112.
