“This type of art was once condemned, but when done by a professional, it is rather beneficial”, — wrote one of the residents in a discussion under the video that went viral on Bratislava social networks.
The gray and unremarkable concrete wall of the transformer substation in the Bratislava neighborhood of Ružinov on Ostredky street has turned into a true work of art. Thanks to the initiative of energy workers from the company ZSE and the Slovakia Street Art Festival, the ordinary technical building received new life.
The wall of the technical facility was decorated with a majestic painting of a sleeping roe deer, created by the famous Italian street art (street art) artist Vincenzo Manno, who works under the pseudonym Vincenzo ViM. Thanks to the masterful work with color and natural motifs, the painting harmoniously fits into the surrounding greenery of the residential area, making the gray urban space cozier.
The video about the transformation of the technical building was published by the energy company and also shared by the district mayor Martin Hren. The reaction of the citizens was mostly positive: people highly appreciated the choice of location, as the quality painting decorated a blind wall without threat to residential buildings. Many residents of the capital expressed hope in the comments on bratislavaden.sk that there will be more such artistic initiatives in the neighborhoods.
