What Happened: Details of the Tragedy
According to law enforcement, the tragic incident occurred on the evening of September 27, 2026, in a house on Rybničná Street in Bratislava.
According to the evidence gathered, a fight broke out between the parties involved in the conflict. The assailants inflicted numerous stab wounds on the man with a kitchen knife in various parts of his body. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.
The victim’s body, showing no signs of life, was discovered the following morning, September 28, around 7:00 a.m., on the lawn in front of the residential building.
Who are the suspects, and what is known about the investigation?
An investigator from the Criminal Police Department of the Regional Police Directorate in Bratislava has officially charged two individuals:
a 39-year-old man;
a 46-year-old woman.
Both are citizens of Ukraine. They are charged with the particularly serious crime of premeditated murder committed as part of a prior conspiracy.
After committing the crime, the suspects quickly left the scene and fled Slovakia. Since the suspects are evading justice, international arrest warrants have already been issued for both of them.
What the suspects face
The police are continuing their investigation and gathering evidence. The issue of the suspects’ detention and extradition to Slovakia is currently being resolved.
Under the laws of the Slovak Republic, individuals are presumed innocent until a final court verdict is rendered. If found guilty in court, the suspects face a prison sentence of 15 to 20 years.
