This means you need to check qualifications yourself: ask about experience with your type of business (SZČO, s.r.o., employee), whether they work with the Slovak tax office (Finančná správa) and Sociálna poisťovňa, and if they can explain the 2026 changes (new tax brackets from 1 January, mikroodvod for self-employed from 1 July).
What to check before hiring:
For self-employed (SZČO): monthly accounting usually costs €30–80 depending on the number of invoices; annual tax return — €80–150. For s.r.o.: monthly accounting from €100, annual financial statements and tax return — €300–600. Employee tax return (if you want to claim deductions like NČZD or mortgage interest) — €50–100.
