Questions about veterinarians

How do I find a veterinarian who speaks my language?+

Each card lists the languages the person actually works in — that comes either from them or from the official register. Filter the list by city and specialisation, then confirm the language again before you go: larger practices have several people on the rota and not all of them speak it.

Where the language field is empty we deliberately do not guess — missing data beats a false promise.

How can I check that a professional is genuine?+

This profession has an official register — Veterinary Chamber. Open it and search by surname: it shows the current status, the language pair or specialisation, and the city. If someone is not in the register but claims otherwise, that is a reason to stop.

We put a link to the register on every card precisely so you can check this in 30 seconds without taking our word for it.

How much do these services cost?+

There is no single price list: the cost depends on complexity, city, urgency and experience. Professions with a statutory tariff (sworn translation, for example) have a minimum rate, but a private price is usually agreed case by case.

Before any work starts, ask for a written description of the service and the full price — that is normal practice and no reasonable professional will take offence.

What if something goes wrong with a professional?+

First try to settle it directly and in writing, so there is a record of what was agreed. If that fails and the profession is regulated, you can complain to the relevant chamber or supervisory body — they are the ones with power over a professional's status.

KOMPAS is not a party to your dealings and cannot compel anyone to act, but do tell us: we take down any card we can no longer substantiate.
