The problem of public order is escalating in Košice. Residents of several city districts, particularly Košice-Sever, are reporting systematic incidents of aggressive behavior by hooligans. People are alarmed: marginalized groups are not only intimidating passersby but also blatantly ignoring warnings from the municipal police.
The latest incident occurred near the Milk Agro store on Park mládeže Street. According to witnesses, a group of four heavily intoxicated individuals behaved in an extremely provocative and aggressive manner for nearly an hour, posing a threat to those around them.

Blatant Disrespect for Law Enforcement
A municipal police (Mestská polícia) patrol was called to the scene. However, the arrival of the officers did not deter the offenders—instead of calming down and leaving the area, the troublemakers resorted to direct threats, taunts, and insults directed at the police.
The complainant noted the professionalism and restraint of the law enforcement officers but expressed concern about the systemic nature of the problem:
“This incident ended without serious consequences. But the question arises: what will happen tomorrow? Are we supposed to wait until this aggression escalates into something more serious and our children, wives, or mothers are put at risk?” said the witness to the incident.
A Widespread Problem: Trouble Spreading Through the Streets
Local residents on social media confirm that the incident near Milk Agro is not an isolated episode, but a chronic problem in the neighborhood.
Anička Recreation Area: According to locals, elderly people and mothers with children are already afraid to go out for walks due to the constant presence of aggressive groups, who also terrorize employees at local retail outlets.
Slovenská jednota and Hlinkova Streets: Posters note that this may be the same group of people who previously lived in the demolished building on Kapitána Nálepku Street. People have observed intoxicated individuals causing disturbances near trash bins and even lying down right in the street, blocking traffic.
Residents are convinced that these marginalized individuals feel they can act with impunity, and that the problem isn’t being solved—it’s simply “migrating” from one street to another.
A Call to Action and Waiting for a Response from the Authorities
Local activists are urging neighbors not to remain indifferent, to document all violations, and to promptly call the Municipal Police or the State Police (Policajný zbor) at 158 (or 156). In addition, residents plan to appeal to city officials and council members, demanding that they take specific preventive measures.
Journalists have already sent official inquiries to the administration of the Košice-Sever city district and the Košice Municipal Police Headquarters, asking them to comment on the situation and outline the steps they plan to take to ensure citizens’ safety.
