The Ministry of Education of Slovakia together with the National Institute of Education and Youth (NIVaM) published the official schedule and rules for external testing for ninth-grade students (Testovanie 9) for the 2026/2027 school year. The exams are mandatory for all ninth graders in Slovak schools.
The organization of testing on site is ensured by school principals, and the knowledge check is conducted according to state educational standards.
Key stages and registration dates
Parents and students should pay attention to the registration period — filling out and submitting applications for participation in the testing will take place from November 16 to November 30, 2026.
