If you live in Vajnory, work in Rača, or just usually take a shortcut through this district, from today you will have to change your routes. From Friday, August 7, until Sunday, August 9, in Bratislava due to the LOVESTREAM 2026 festival on the Old Airport territory, traffic restrictions are in place, and cars parked illegally will be towed.
The restrictions were set by the Regional Road Inspectorate in Bratislava. The reason is simple: cars of visitors will enter temporary parking zones, and local residents need to keep street access. Enhanced police patrols will monitor order and ask drivers to follow portable signs and directions from traffic controllers, writes Bratislavské noviny.
Which streets are closed and how to bypass them
Closures apply daily during the festival from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, in both directions, but only for transit traffic. Two sections are closed:
- From the intersection of Pri starom letisku street to the roundabout before Vajnorský nadjazd. The detour is two-way via Príjazdná street.
- From Rybničná street to the same roundabout before Vajnorský nadjazd. The detour is from the intersection of road I/61 with Pri mlyne street, then via Roľnícka and back to Rybničná towards Rača.

Who will be allowed on the closed streets
Regular traffic is closed, but there are exceptions. Festival visitors, MHD buses (city public transport), vehicles with organizer permits, and cars transporting persons with disabilities (with proper markings) will be allowed to enter the closed sections.
How to get to the festival without a car
The organizers prepared enhanced public transport. Slovak Lines runs special buses from the Nivy bus station directly to the festival area. By agreement with the railway carrier ZSSK, some regional and intercity trains will make unscheduled stops at Bratislava-Vajnory station. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk to the event.
Parking without a ticket: risk losing your car
The city police separately warned drivers: if you do not have paid parking in the festival area, do not leave your car anywhere. Cars blocking traffic, exits, or parked in prohibited places may be towed, reports Teraz.sk.
On August 4, before the festival, the mayor of Vajnory district Michal Vlček held a coordination meeting with police, rescue services, and organizers to minimize inconvenience for locals. So if you are not going to the concerts, the simplest advice for this weekend is: stay away from the Old Airport area.
