Forget about endless phone calls, emails, and social media messages that got lost between departments. Residents of the Bratislava-Nové Mesto district can now quickly and conveniently report any issues in public spaces through the new online service, Podnetovník. This platform, launched on October 8, 2026, promises to significantly simplify interactions with local authorities and speed up the resolution of urgent issues.
What is Podnetovník and why is it needed?
Podnetovník (from the Slovak word “podnet,” meaning “request” or “initiative”) is a centralized online system designed to collect and efficiently process requests from residents. Its main goal is to consolidate all reports in one place, simplify their registration, and speed up their forwarding to the appropriate city district staff. Previously, requests came in through various channels—email, phone, social media, or directly to individual departments—which created confusion and slowed down the process.
Matúš Čupka, mayor of the Bratislava-Nové Mesto district, emphasized that requests from residents are a key source of information about what needs improvement. The new service is designed to make this process as simple as possible for people and ensure a quick response from the government.
How it works: Your voice will be heard in just a few clicks
Using Podnetovník is extremely simple and requires no registration or account creation. You can submit a request even from your cell phone.
- Open the platform: Go to podnety.banm.sk or use the Bratislava-Nové Mesto mobile app.
- Mark the location: Use the interactive map to indicate the exact location of the issue.
- Describe the issue: Briefly summarize the nature of your report.
- Add a photo: If you wish, attach a photo illustrating the problem.
- Provide your contact information: Leave your contact details so we can get back to you.
After submission, the system will automatically assign a reference number to your report. You will receive emails with updates on the status of your report—from acceptance to resolution. Additionally, you can view previously submitted reports on the interactive map to avoid duplicates.
What can you report via Podnetovník?
Thanks to Podnetovník, you can report a wide range of issues that affect the quality of life in your neighborhood. These include:
- Potholes (výtlky) on roads and sidewalks.
- Abandoned cars (autovraky).
- Damaged traffic signs (poškodené dopravné značenie).
- Landscaping issues: uncut grass, dry or damaged trees that need pruning.
- Damaged street furniture (mobiliár): broken benches, trash cans.
- Malfunctioning street lighting.
- Problems at playgrounds and sports fields.
This initiative by the Bratislava-Nové Mesto district is an important step toward creating a more transparent and effective system for managing urban spaces, allowing residents to actively participate in improving their surroundings.
