In the Polish city of Częstochowa, law enforcement officers detained a 56-year-old citizen of Slovakia (Slovakia) who was wanted by Interpol under a red notice. According to the investigation, the man is involved in organizing a contract killing on the territory of Ukraine, and also has a long criminal history in currency counterfeiting.
Bloody assassination attempt near Ternopil
According to Ukrainian law enforcement, in April 2024 the Slovak man ordered the murder of a 60-year-old man near Ternopil for money.
The killer ambushed the victim and fired several shots. Despite severe gunshot wounds, the man miraculously survived. Ukrainian law enforcement detained the killer himself a few months after the crime, which allowed them to identify the person who ordered the murder.
Fake money scam and search
Polish criminologists received a description of the wanted man at the end of August 2026 and quickly identified him. It turned out that the 56-year-old Slovak was already well known to Polish authorities.
In 2024, he was detained for participating in an international organized criminal group involved in fraud and large-scale counterfeiting of money. At that time, the police seized almost 1,700 counterfeit banknotes in dollars, euros, and zlotys, and charged seven members of the gang.

Currently, the detainee is in custody in Poland. Law enforcement is carrying out all necessary procedures according to the international protocol of the Interpol red notice for the further extradition of the offender and his transfer to Ukrainian justice.
